SOY set to Support Industrial Electricians After Acquiring Approval

Support Ontario Youth (SOY) moves forward with Industrial Electricians in their apprenticeship program after receiving approval from Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Training, and Skills Development.

SOY bridges students in the industrial trades to employers, like the Canadian Corrugated and Containerboard Association (CCCA).

“Now, we are well-positioned to support the CCCA members’ maintenance needs”, Melanie Winter, SOY’s Program Manager said. Industrial electrician apprentices will join millwright apprentices in the CCCA’s maintenance departments.

“We know the value apprentices bring to our team. SOY’s structured pathway–developing both hard and soft skills–for apprentices is essential to our succession planning”, said Allen Kirkpatrick, Executive Director of the CCCA.

The CCCA and SOY are eager to support incoming apprentices in their careers in the trades. Together, they are assuring a stronger and healthier workforce for future generations. To get involved, visit supportontarioyouth.ca or email melanie.winter@supportontarioyouth.ca
