Our Background
Founded in 1974, the Canadian Corrugated and Containerboard Association (CCCA) is headquartered in Mississauga, Canada. The Association was created to unite industry stakeholders and provide a single, strong voice on issues impacting Canada’s corrugated and containerboard sector.
Uniting members from coast to coast, the CCCA advances durable design, champions sustainable stewardship, and strengthens the industry that powers Canada’s supply chains. From our humble beginnings, the CCCA has grown in both size and influence, strengthening our ability to advocate on behalf of members and help shape decisions that impact the industry.
Today, the CCCA proudly serves Canada’s corrugated industry and works collaboratively with members and tangential organization to address shared challenges and opportunities.

Our Members
Engineering durable, safe, customizable and sustainable packaging solutions that power supply chains
The CCCA has three voting member categories: Full-Service Corrugator Box Plants, Containerboard Mills, and Sheet Feeders. We also have non-voting members, called Industry Affiliates. Voting members must have a Canadian production facility. Each category of members is important to the continued success of the industry, and the CCCA enables them to work together. Corrugator Box Plants are companies that manufacture corrugated cardboard using the linerboard and medium from Containerboard Mills. These are manufactured into different types of corrugated packaging for virtually everything. If you can think of it, it likely travelled in a corrugated box at some point.

Industry Insights: CCCA provides our voting members with monthly industry data that helps them make business decisions, recognise trends and navigate changes. We use third-parties to collect and analyze data to protect confidentiality, ensure adherence to anti-trust guidelines, and aggregate data where necessary.
Representation: Joining CCCA gives your organization a voice in advocacy for the wider industry.
Marketing Tools: Gain access to materials to support your organization’s marketing activities. We build generic material that is informational, sector-building and thought-provoking. We also promote members on our website.
Advocacy: CCCA advocates for the paper-based packaging industry with government, which is particularly important as public demand and corporate environmental goals are shifting government policy in this area.
Collaboration: We keep abreast of issues, and we provide support and guidance as our members navigate challenges. We investigate and develop solutions or industry-wide approaches.
Networking: CCCA offers our members opportunities to network through various events, such as quarterly meetings, our AGM, member dinners and events, and affiliations with groups such as the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC Canada) and The Fibre Box Association in the U.S.
Environmental Guidance: Through our sister organization, PPEC, we provide a credible perspective and guidance on environmental topics related to our industry.
What is PPEC?
The Paper Packaging Environmental Council (PPEC) is the trusted and credible environmental voice for the Canadian paper packaging industry. For more than 30 years, the association has promoted the positive environmental attributes of paper-based packaging and the circular economy of the industry through advocacy and communications.
PPEC works to correct misinformation about the Canadian paper packaging industry and support informed decision-making by governments, industry, and stakeholders by providing ongoing analysis, insight, and research on the industry’s environmental issues, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and recycling, greenwashing, sustainable forestry, PFAS, and climate-related policy.
PPEC’s blog provides thought leadership, while its info sheets and monthly newsletter offer members exclusive updates on regulatory developments, helping them better understand the environment and policy landscape facing the corrugated and containerboard industry in Canada.
Particularly now, with the highly competitive packaging sector, being a member of CCCA is useful because of its combined contribution with PPEC to sustaining the strength of the corrugated and containerboard industry in Canada.
